chrisknight315 May possibly Own a Yamaha Enduro?

Default New to this forum

Hi I recently bought a yamaha ysr 50 that has a dt 400 engine in it. Cylinder head has a stamp that says 496 cc and has 2 spark plugs at the top but it's one cylinder. It's in the beginning stages. And has just been roughly put in the frame of the ysr. I'm new on here. If some one knows of a thread for people rebuilding the engine and putting them into a ysr 50, I'd greatly appreciate directions to those threads thanks.

Memorylane May possibly Own a Yamaha Enduro?

Default

Hello all, new here and have been riding since I was 9. I'm 52 and my first bike was a QA50, pretty sure it was a 1970 model. My second bike, a yellow mini enduro is why I ended up finding this site. I just bought a basket case JT1 of Craigslist and I'm in the process of getting it running. I grew up poor and didn't buy a running bike until my late teens, the QA50, the Enduro, the 76 RM125, all gotten running by me with help from my dad. Pretty proud of that now and looking back, all my interest , and energy went into how things worked. I've been an automotive mechanic for over 32 years now but my first love was motorcycles. I've got a story to tell about the Enduro that I'll post later and i hope to contribute to this site. Thanks for the info so far.
Leif in California.

Default Tom from N California

Hi, I have been riding bikes since I was 15. Started with a Vespa and graduated to dirt bikes, first one was a Greeves 250. Have had approx. 50 bikes throughout my life mostly vintage British bikes. I recently sold my KTM 520 Exc and acquired a 1971 CT1 175. Much more manageable for my 71 years of age. looking forward to learning about the bike on this forum.

motoman59 May possibly Own a Yamaha Enduro?

Default Motoman59 Greeting as new member

Hello fello Enduro owners, builders and restorers. I have been into motorcycles since 1973 when I got my first GT80 Yamaha and graduated at 16 to a 75 DT175B which was my first rode legal motorcycle. I recently found one that had a restoration started but stalled. Finished the restoration to a running bike. I have owned many motorcycles during my life but always had a soft spot for mid seventies 2 stroke enduros from Yamaha. Currently restoring a 73 LT3. Will start a thread for that.
